FAQ

Will Ink get my writing past AI detectors?

Ink is an AI humanizer. It rewrites the patterns that make text read as machine-written and that AI detectors look for: stock phrases, uniform sentence rhythm, generic transitions and filler. It aims to make text read as human-written. Results vary by detector and by text, so check your own text. Ink never sends your text to a detector. Read about Ink and AI detectors.

Will it change my facts, names or numbers?

Ink looks for the names, numbers, dates, quotes, citations and links from your draft in each rewrite, and warns you if one is missing. These checks can miss changes.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT to sound more human?

Ink runs its own model, made for this one job. It checks the result against your draft and shows you exactly what changed. You choose how strong the rewrite is and whether it is for work, casual or academic writing.

Where does my text go?

Ink rewrites it with its own model on cloud GPUs, not through OpenAI, Anthropic or another AI service. If you use Ink from ChatGPT or Claude, that assistant also sees the text.

Do you train on my writing?

Drafts and rewrites are not used for training unless you send feedback on them. Feedback may be used to improve and train Ink’s models. Analytics and error reports never receive your text.

How long do you keep my text?

Your draft and rewrite are deleted from your history after 30 days. Deleting your ego.ist account removes your Ink history and voice files.

How do I cancel?

From Billing, at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.

What if I run out of words?

On a paid plan you can buy extra words, from $15 for 50,000. They are used after your monthly allowance and last 12 months.
