Humanize AI emails and work updates

A work email needs to tell someone what happened, what you need and when. An AI draft can bury those details under a polite opening, a long explanation and a closing that repeats the request. The same padding can make a report or product update harder to scan. Start by finding the sentence your reader needs to act on.

A real email rewrite

This example uses the shared Ink model with Work context and Balanced strength. The crossed-out phrases are from the draft. The rewrite below is the actual result, including the wording you might still want to edit.

Draft: I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to reach out to inform you that the launch timeline has been adjusted. In order to ensure a comprehensive review, we would greatly appreciate it if you could share your feedback on the revised proposal by Thursday. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Rewrite: I hope you are doing well. Just wanted to inform you that the launch date has shifted. To do a proper due diligence we would appreciate receiving your comments on the revised proposal by Thursday. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Choose the amount of change

Choose Work context for an email, report or update. Start with Light when the draft is close and you want fewer changes. Balanced is a useful starting point for stock openers and repeated explanations. Strong gives Ink more room to change phrasing and sentence rhythm. Read the result before sending, especially when a request needs a particular level of formality.

Cut a stock opener if it delays the point. Check whether the closing adds anything beyond the request you already made. Keep context that explains a decision, a dependency or a deadline. Shorter is useful only when the reader still has enough information to respond.

Check the details before sending

Ink checks names, numbers, dates, quotes, citations and links and warns if one goes missing. These checks can miss changes. Use Compare to see what changed, then check the request, owner and deadline against the draft. Confirm that a tentative plan has not become a firm commitment.

If you draft in ChatGPT or Claude, you can send the text to Ink from that assistant. The integrations page explains connection options and what the assistant can see. For edits by hand, read the writing guide. The Ink homepage shows the web workflow.
