Use Ink in ChatGPT
Ink’s ChatGPT humanizer app revises supplied drafts through an MCP connection. You choose the passage and ask ChatGPT to use Ink for the rewrite. The connection uses the shared Ink model. Personal voice profiles are coming soon, so a rewrite from that model is not a profile trained on a personal style.
The ChatGPT app directory listing is pending review. For private use today, the integrations page describes a connector for an eligible developer account. This page explains that path. It does not mean Ink is available as a published directory listing for every ChatGPT account.
Connect for private use
With an eligible developer account, add a connector using https://ink.ego.ist/mcp and OAuth. Complete sign-in and approval on Ink. Review the consent screen before approving. Access covers Ink account status, supplied-text rewrites and your rewrite jobs and results. The connection grants no AI Passport memory access.
Authorizing ChatGPT and choosing an Ink subscription are separate steps. You can connect before selecting a plan. If rewriting requires setup or more words, Ink’s tools return a link to the website. Open that link, review the account action and return to the conversation when you are ready.
If your account does not offer the private connector path, you can use the Ink website for the same editing task. The agent guide and auth.md cover connection details for people building their own client. Available connection options are documented on the integrations page.
Ask for a specific rewrite
Supply the text and ask ChatGPT to rewrite it with Ink. Name the reader and the purpose. For a product update, say what the customer needs to understand or do. Choose Work, Casual or Academic context and Light, Balanced or Strong strength rather than leaving the amount of change open.
Light suits a draft that needs fewer changes. Balanced allows more revision to phrasing. Strong gives more room to change the wording and sentence rhythm. Larger changes need more review. Keep an untouched source so you can judge whether the rewrite still makes the same request or claim.
The tools can check Ink account status, create a rewrite job, check its progress, retrieve a result and cancel a job. A longer job can need more than one progress check. Partial blocks are a preview. Wait for the final result and its warnings before treating the text as ready to use.
Use the Ink widget to review
The ChatGPT app supports reviewing the result in the Ink widget. Use the result and Compare view to inspect changes against the draft when the assistant supports that view. Read the complete paragraph after checking individual edits. A local wording improvement may change how a later sentence is understood.
Ink checks names, numbers, dates, quotes, citations and links and warns if one goes missing. Those checks can miss changes. Verify dates, units, attribution and commitments yourself. Read rewrite without losing facts for a review process suited to reports, research summaries and work updates.
Keep account access deliberate
ChatGPT can see text you send through it, alongside Ink. Only supply material you intend both services to process. Read Ink’s privacy page for its data handling. You can manage and revoke assistant grants from Connections on the Ink website.
Rewriting uses your Ink plan and available words. See plans for current prices. Before setting up a connection, you can try the free AI phrase checker in your browser. The phrase guide explains the alternatives it suggests and why context still matters.
